Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is the recommended method for placing an order?
A: We highly recommend using our free online designer tool to place your order, as it streamlines the ordering process and ensures efficiency. However, if you have any enquiries or would like to discuss your order beforehand, please don’t hesitate to contact us. We’re here to assist you and address any questions or concerns you may have.

Q: What is the printing method?
A: We use high-quality direct-to-garment (DTG) printing on the premium AS Colour range of t-shirts, hoodies, crews, and other garments. Your custom artwork is digitally printed at a resolution of 1200×1200 DPI in CMYK full color, using advanced Innobella Textile inks. This ensures excellent print quality and durability for your customised items.

Q: What type of artwork is best?
A: The preferred file type is PNG with a transparent background, with at least 300 DPI, and saved as close as possible to the desired print size. For detailed information regarding the file types for your artwork, we recommend visiting our Artwork Requirements page.

Q: Is DTG printing durable?
A: DTG Printing is indeed a reliable and effective method for creating durable and long-lasting prints on various clothing and accessories. When you choose DTG printed garments, such as Tees, you can expect them to have a retail-quality finish, comparable to or even better than the printed shirts you commonly find at major retailers or local shopping centres. The advantage of DTG printing is that it produces high-quality prints that maintain their excellent appearance even after multiple washes and repeated wearing. You can enjoy the confidence that your DTG-printed shirt will retain its great quality and visually appeal over time.

Q: How long do DTG printed garments generally last?
A: The longevity of DTG prints can vary depending on several factors, including the quality of the printing, the garment material, and how well the care instructions are followed. While the industry standard suggests that printed clothing can withstand around 50 washes, many agree that DTG prints have the potential to last longer.
In general, DTG prints have the ability to endure the lifespan of the garment itself. However, it’s important to note that as the garment goes through regular wear and washing, it will naturally experience some deterioration. This can cause the ink on the fabric to gradually break down over time, and the print to look like it is aging along with the garment.
To maximize the lifespan of your DTG prints, it is recommended to follow the care instructions provided. By following these guidelines, you can help preserve the quality and longevity of your DTG prints for an extended period.

Q: Are your products eco-friendly?
A: Yes, our products are eco-friendly. We utilize Brother’s water-based inks, which are manufactured with an exclusive eco-friendly formulation. This allows us to achieve excellent results while minimizing environmental impact. The printing process, when using genuine inks and pre-treatment, is CPSIA compliant*, meaning it reduces environmental waste and ensures safe printing on baby and youth garments. We are committed to promoting sustainability and responsible printing practices.
In addition to our eco-friendly inks, we print on the premium AS Colour range, made from Australian Cotton. AS Colour are big on their ethical values and social responsibilities – see more here.

Q: What is the best way to wash my garment?
A: Most of our garments are made of 100% cotton. See our recommended washing instructions below:

  1. Gentle cycle: Cold machine wash only.
  2. Use a gentle washing powder: Avoid using fabric softeners as they may strip the colored ink.
  3. Avoid bleach: Do not bleach or use any bleaching agents.
  4. Wash inside out: Turn the garment inside out before washing.
  5. Separate colors: Wash whites with whites and darks with darks. Do not mix colors.
  6. Avoid tumble drying: Do not put the garment in a tumble dryer.
  7. Line Dry: Hanging on a coat hanger out of direct sunlight is best.
  8. Do not iron: If you must iron your garment, iron it inside out and avoid ironing the printed area.

Following these care instructions will help maintain the quality and longevity of your digitally printed garments.

Q: What is the square mark around my print?
A: If your garment arrives with a square mark around your print, this is just residue of the pre-treatment solution. This solution is sprayed onto the garments before printing, especially for dark garments, it acts as an adhesive for the white ink. It enables us to achieve vibrant and visible prints on dark fabrics. This can be easily removed by washing your garment, or spraying with distilled water, and ironing out. It can be helpful to wash your garment first before wearing in some cases (especially with grey marle due to the synthetic fibres in the item). DTG printing provides the best quality print on 100% cotton.

Q: Can I supply my own garments for you to print onto?
A: Unfortunately, we do not accept customer-supplied stock for DTG (direct-to-garment) printing jobs. We have specific processes and quality standards in place to ensure the best results for our customers, which require using our own carefully selected garments. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
